Oxford’s administration is currently adopting a new hiring protocol that requires all applicants to “have demonstrated a past commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.”
One Oxford professor expressed what you and I are already thinking … “So you are being interviewed for a job in [chemistry], yet you have to go out of your way to show you have tried to virtue signal. … Do you mark someone down because they haven’t jumped on the woke bandwagon?”
College professors, like all of us, are entitled to hold their own political opinions but when the mission of the school becomes focused on brainwashing the students we have a crisis. The best professors are the ones that keep students guessing … but, sadly, those are few and far between.
