You would think libraries across the country, but particularly libraries in Virginia, would have gotten the message by now. Actually, they have – and they don’t care!
Earlier this week a taxpayer-paid librarians in Fairfax County, Virginia built a holiday book display that featured three recommended holiday books.
The first was the Holy Bible. Makes sense.
The second was “Gender Queer,” a book including photos of sexual acts between a boy and a man. Huh?
The third was “Lawn Boy,” a book about a boy and his recollections about sexual experiences he had as a 10 year old child. OK, this is deliberate.
Oh, and by the way, the Holy Bible was featured in the grasp of a holiday gnome – a holiday gnome wearing rainbow colored clothes and hat. Think there’s a message in that? If you don’t we have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
When confronted by upset taxpayers, the library staff predictably explained it away as “unintentional” and “not meant as offensive.” OK, sure!
We agree with one Fairfax County resident who said, “The timing on this – it’s an intentional dig. It’s a dig on parents who object to pornography and pedophilia-themed materials in the library, and it’s a dig on Christians as a whole. … The [so-called] tolerant left is giving you guys some holiday hate.”
