Florida’s Governor, Ron DeSantis, gets it. Thank goodness someone does!
The National Hockey League (NHL) was planning for a job fair in the Sunshine State, and posted the following notice on social media sites.
“Participants must be 18 years of age or older, based in the U.S., and identify as female, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and/or a person with a disability. Veterans are also welcome and encouraged to attend.”
Are you kidding me?
When Governor DeSantis put the League in the penalty box, stressing that Florida does not tolerate employment discrimination of any kind, the league quickly reversed course, deleted the post, and opened the event to everyone.
Common sense and fundamental fairness. What a concept! Thank you to our MVP … Governor DeSantis.
